June 16: IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!!!
Monday night, June 23, we will approach the City Council
Board Members!! Our presentation will be at 6:00 PM. There will be three
speakers from Bellevuedogs.org who will share different aspects of our cause to
obtain an off-leash area in Downtown Park. Your attendence will be very
important!!! If we show the Board that we are a legitimate, large group of
taxpaying voters, then they in turn will be impressed to take action. The
more the merrier!! PLEASE make every effort to attend!! Your participation
will not only be appreciated by us humans, but naturally, our pooches
too! And, SPREAD THE WORD! Tell your friends, neighbors, and especially
other park users about it. And please inform them that they can also advocate
for an OLA in the Downtown Park via email.
Stay informed and visit our
website regularly!!
Thanks for all your support!!!

May 21 2008: Hello There!
Our noon time hours have changed.
It
has been brought to my attention that until we obtain a “legal” off leash area,
that we are MUCH BETTER OFF congregating in the park no earlier than 1 PM each
afternoon. The reasons are:
(1) We have a greater chance of avoiding
conflict with park employees, city officials, and policemen due to their new
shift changes.
(2) The park is less crowded in the afternoon time so
we’re more likely to avoid congestion and unwanted interference with others who
do not want us to release our dogs off leash.
Thank you for your
cooperation in this change…we do not wish to aggravate our situation by arriving
at the park too early.
See you and your critters soon!!
-- On Monday, May 5, at 12:30PM, the pet owners were approached by a Parks and
Rec. employee and a Bellevue Policeman. The policeman spoke to our crowd
about our on-going off leash violations dilemma. He issued the crowd a formal
warning. The owners will receive a citation for having their dogs off leash, or
if the dogs, are not under their owners’ direct supervision. The citation is a
misdemeanor and can carry a hefty fine as well as jail time.
This warning makes our work even MORE IMPORTANT and
IMMEDIATE!!! Please know that the sooner we obtain our petition signatures, the
sooner we can approach city council with our concerns. HELP WANTED with
signature collections!! Please contact me. THANKS!!! - Sun Apr 27: Hi there Project Puppy Park advocates!
Yesterday, Sat Apr 26, we obtained our first petition signature in
the park and then about 30 more all from our own crowd. There are a
number of various sites in the community where we can go to obtain
more...offices, supermarkets, other doggy parks, etc.
More signatures are on the way with your help. We need at LEAST 500
signatures to be able to approach City Council. If you can devote any
time to this mission, please contact me or send me
an email to the website: Bellevuedogs.org. - Sat Apr 26: Hello there Off-Leash Advocates! Our petition
for an off-leash area in Bellevue's Downtown Park is finally ready for launch.
We DESPERATELY need volunteers who can help in collecting signatures of Bellevue
residents only. There will be
a table set up this Saturday, April 26, from 1 PM until we get tired, on the
path. Will you help? Thanks for any time and effort you can spare! New comers
welcome!- Thurs April 24: BellevueDogs.org is a volunteer effort. All BellevueDogs.org services are free
- Wed April 9: We now meet in the Downtown Park. We no longer meet in Wildwood Park.To add Bulletins, use the form below: Free service to add or post bulletins.
